Commission delays decision on Ryanair’s Charleroi deal

THE European Commission has postponed until at least December a ruling on whether Ryanair, the no-frills airline, has received illegal subsidies from Belgium’s Charleroi airport, south of Brussels.

"A decision was due at the end of November or in December, but we're now looking at December," said one official.

Another said a verdict may not come until early in 2004.
