THE union representing 18,000 Irish bank workers is demanding a 10% pay increase in the next national pay agreement for its members.

Members of the Irish Bank Officials Association (IBOA) yesterday voted for its leaders to be part of the ICTU delegation at talks on new pay agreement, which are to get underway soon.

But it will not to sign up to any agreement unless it contains a commitment to a net pay increase of 10% over two years, the inclusion of a local bargaining clause and a provision for profit-sharing among employees.
