Week gets off to slow start

TRADING was slow on the Irish market yesterday with little in the way of corporate news flow to boost volumes. The ISEQ marked time, rising just 0.98 to 6140.11.

In the financial sector Bank of Ireland gave up 20c to €12.48. Market leader AIB on the other hand advanced 12c to €16.42. On the second line Irish Life & Permanent climbed 3c while Anglo-Irish fell back 15c to €19.70.

In construction CRH rose by 9c to €20.94, Kingspan gained 3c to €9.45, while Grafton ended the day level at €9.35.
