Broadband report published

The Oireachtas communications committee has published its long-awaited report on the provision of a national high-speed Broadband internet services.

It found that if Ireland is to meet the challenges of being a knowledge-based modern economy, it was most essential that universal broadband is available at affordable prices for both businesses and citizens.

At the launch, Senator Brendan Kenneally said the report is intended to outline a number of the main requirements for progress in this area and recommends a way forward in developing a national, high-speed broadband network.
