Executives snap up pensions

MORE than 80% of business executives are in company pension schemes compared to just half the rest of the workforce, it emerged yesterday.

A Deloitte & Touche survey of Irish business leaders showed that 82% of bosses were in pension schemes compared to a Central Statistics Office survey published in September, which indicated total private pension coverage of 50.7% in the workforce.

In July 2001, 72% of executives surveyed were in a pension scheme.
