Market closes above magic 5000

THE Dublin Market had a very solid performance yesterday posting a sizeable increase of 58.71 points, leaving it to close above the magic 5000 barrier at 5075.16

The biggest mover on the day, even on low volume, was in the construction sector with Abbey finishing at 8.20, 90c better. This jump after news of fiscal first-half profits rising 43% due to continued demand for residential property in Ireland and Britain.
