Airlines set to face €5,000 airport fines

AIRLINES at Dublin Airport will face fines of €5,000 if they miss allocated take-off and landing slots, according to proposals from the Commission for Aviation Regulation.

Last year, Dublin Airport became ‘slot co-ordinated’, meaning airlines were allocated set times to operate services, replacing the previous system of airlines agreeing times among themselves.

Slot co-ordination will be administered by an independent company.
