LIMERICK County Council are charging the highest development levy in the country, new research has shown.

At €116.55 per square metre, Limerick is just ahead of Dublin City Council on €110 per sq m, but well ahead of Donegal County Council at just €6.98, according to a study by the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland (CCI) of 34 local authorities.

The CCI research shows many local authorities within the greater Dublin area tend to charge more than in rural local authorities.
