Tourist numbers drop for hotels

THE number of tourists from abroad staying in hotels has dropped to a five-year low, a Bord Fáilte survey has revealed.

With the exception of hostels which have been offering special deals in a bid to attract business all other types of accommodation expect leisure/holiday figures to be down in the coming months when compared with the same period last year.

Expectations are also low among activity providers and coach operators.
