AER LINGUS is axing its Orlando flights from next January after failing to agree new work practices with cabin crew.

The carrier began flights to the Florida destination last December as part of a wider plan to expand its long-haul services. But it is cancelling the route following the breakdown of talks on new working arrangements with cabin crew.

Aer Lingus said last night that talks with IMPACT, which represents cabin crew, had been ongoing since the carrier published its business plan last September, but an agreement could not be reached on several issues.
