CRH denies bribery charge

BUILDING materials giant CRH has again denied allegations of bribery when it acquired a cement factory in Poland in the late 1990s.

Chief executive Liam O’Mahony said no-one within CRH had authorised any payments to a former Polish government minister in the course of buying a Polish State-owned cement factory.

The allegations came to light as part of a wider probe of corruption in Poland.
