ESB is to spend €100m on upgrade

Carlow: The ESB is to spend €100 million in counties Carlow and Kilkenny to upgrade the electricity transmission systems. The investment is part of a €3.5 billion national programme and will continue until 2005.

“The improved quality of supply and increased reliability will mean all our 45,000 customers in Co Carlow and Co Kilkenny will enjoy a better electrical infrastructure,” said head of ESB networks asset management Denis O’Leary.
