Email fraud targets bank customers

Bank customers have been urged to be vigilant after a fresh appearance of an email-based fraud.

The Irish Payment Services Organisation, which oversees the operation of credit and Laser cards in Ireland, said new attempts at ‘phishing’ had taken place recently.

Phishing is the term given to fake emails that aim to trick recipients into parting with their bank account or credit card details.
