Conference told ‘economy must face challenges’

IRELAND is now a high cost economy that must face challenges in remaining competitive, a conference of Irish chief executives was told yesterday.

The annual CEO Forum heard Irish businesses needed to move up the value chain by increasing productivity through automation and continued investment in training and education. Speakers included outgoing Aer Lingus chief executive Willie Walsh.
