EMPLOYERS group IBEC has hit out at the decision by members of the Communications Workers Union (CWU) to vote in favour of strike action at An Post.

IBEC director of Industrial Relations and Human Resources Brendan McGinty said: “The prospect of industrial action at the national postal service An Post by the CWU shows that the union is only interested in resisting change and preserving antiquated and restrictive work practices. This approach has no place in our modern economy.”
