Hurray, another strategic review group

TÁNAISTE Mary Harney inadvertently summed up the findings of the task force she announced last Monday when she set up the new Enterprise Strategy Group.

Future economic success will have its roots in design and innovation, and not in manufacturing, she said at the launch of the body.

Observers of the Irish economy and the lethargy which has gripped it in recent years might suggest it was time we got off our backsides and tackled the domestic issues of competition and costs issues that are, to a significant degree, of our own making.
