PEOPLE making fraudulent insurance claims are putting thousands of jobs at risk, business leaders said yesterday.

The Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC) has asked Justice Minister, Michael McDowell to penalise people making such claims.

The organisation's director of enterprise, Brendan Butler, has proposed a four-point plan to combat the problem. He's urging Mr McDowell to introduce these measures immediately.
