IN Britain, a recent report concluded that more than two-thirds of all conventional crops in the United States had been contaminated by the spread of genetically modified material.

It concludes organic farming is as good as dead, due to the contamination while the genes involved pose a severe risk to the health of future generations.

And this is the rub. Once the genetically modified genes spread, as the latest report shows, US farmers have ended up planting billions of contaminated seeds every year. And it will not be long before GM crop growing, wittingly or otherwise will have become the norm across US agriculture.
