Eurozone inflation stays above 2%

The inflation rate in the dozen euro nations stayed above the European Central Bank’s 2% limit for a third month in July as oil prices surged to a record.

Consumer prices rose 2.4% from a year earlier, the same pace as in June, the Luxembourg-based European Union’s statistics office said.

Consumer and business confidence were unchanged, the European Commission said.
