Bank launches internet account

Northern Rock has launched a new internet-based demand account at a variable rate of 2.60% gross per annum for balances greater than €1,000.

The new Demand Online account will pay interest at a rate guaranteed to be no lower than the ECB base rate (currently 2%) until January 1, 2006.
