ESRI warns of threat to house prices

HOUSE prices could fall by over 30% if the economy was hit by a sudden loss of confidence, the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) has warned.

That could be triggered by a sharp correction in the US economy, which could happen as early as 2007.

The Government think tank warns the huge deficits in the US are a dark cloud hanging over the global and the Irish economy.
