Market ends week on a positive note

THE Irish market ended the week on a positive note, with the financials and CRH leading the way. The ISEQ nudged 10.86 higher at 5181.77.

With over 1.33 million shares traded, market leaders AIB climbed 12c to €11.82. Anglo-Irish also had a solid day, up 17c to €12.90, while BoI dropped to €9.80. Irish Life & Permanent had a mixed day. The company eased 5c.

In construction, CRH strengthened to e17.54 while Grafton firmed to €5.95. Elsewhere, Ryanair fell to €4.54 as investors took back yesterday's gains. Elan dropped 22c to €18.25.
