Investor caution on equities

THE ISEQ index closed down again yesterday as very low volumes indicated investor caution with the equity market. The Dublin exchange dropped 7.41 points to close at 6634.02.

The financials performed poorly again as AIB and Bank of Ireland continued their downward trend, slipping 7c and 4c. Anglo Irish and Irish Life & Permanent also weakened, down 3c and 12c.

In construction, CRH lost ground down 13c to €21.76, while Kingspan also finished 15c lighter at €10.05. Grafton group dropped 5c to cross the line at €8.35.
