AIB and Bank of Ireland shares rose

The ISEQ index broke the 6800 mark with CRH and Elan leading the way. The Exchange closed up 31.91points to 6839.09.

AIB and Bank of Ireland shares rose

In the financial sector, AIB gained 2c to close at €17.70 while Bank of Ireland rose by 12c on the day, with 2.6 million shares traded. In the second line, Irish Life & Permanent added 10c to its share value as Anglo Irish fell back slightly, down 2c to €11.33.

CRH climbed 40c yesterday crossing the line at €22.55 while Grafton fell back 5c to €8.40 as a British peer released a trading update stating that trading remains in line with expectations despite tough market conditions.
