Weak sentiment hits shares

MARKETS around the world slumped yesterday as renewed terror attacks and a weak dollar hit investor sentiment. The ISEQ Index of Irish shares closed down 98.60 to 4220.39 points.

Allied Irish Bank lost 2.94% to €€13.20 as it dropped to its lowest level for over a month. Bank of Ireland and Anglo Irish also closed in the red, dropping 3.71% and 2.03% to €€11.17 and €€7.23 respectively.

CRH fell 2.55% to €€13.39. On a positive note, United Drug climbed 1.49% to €€13.60 amongst few share risers.
