FINANCE Minister Brian Cowen yesterday rejected suggestions that he would introduce cutbacks in December’s Budget to ease concerns raised by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) earlier this week.

Mr Cowen said the country was in a healthy economic position and that the IMF was “supportive” of the Government’s broad policy position.

“We’re not into cutback country,” he said.
