Market back in positive territory

SHARES rebounded slightly yesterday as the ISEQ closed in positive territory for the first day in four. The ISEQ rose 13.36 points to 6070.04.

The financial sector saw modest movement in share prices, with little newsflow to boost activity. AIB and Bank of Ireland closed stronger, at €14.70 and €11.79 respectively. In the second line, Anglo Irish bank firmed 5c to €17.35 and Irish Life and Permanent eased 5c to €13.15.

It was a mixed day in construction following negative sentiment in the British housing market. Grafton Group and Kingspan both took hits giving up 5c and 10c respectively, CRH weathered the storm gaining ground to €19.39 and McInerney eased 1c to €6.04.
