Cowen pushes for greater cross-Border economic co-operation

FINANCE Minister Brian Cowen yesterday called for greater economic co-operation between North and South.

Addressing an economic conference in Co Antrim, Mr Cowen said he wanted to work with northern politicians from all traditions on island-wide public investment programmes.

It was time to “put all the cards on the table” and co-operate in practical ways that threatened nobody but would bring benefits the whole island.
