Dublin market continues to gain

SHARES in Dublin edged higher for the sixth day in a row, up 20.48 points to 5466.19.

With 21 million shares traded, construction giant CRH continued its good form up 1c to €17.36. The company announces its trading statement next week. Grafton and McInerney were steady at €6.01 and €5.20 respectively.

The financials were mixed. Allied Irish Bank was solid at €12.70 as Bank of Ireland added 8c to €10.98. Irish Life & Permanent regained recent losses up 35c to €12.65 while Anglo-Irish finished 7c weaker at €12.85.

Food group Kerry slid 20c, while elsewhere, drug-maker Elan nudged 7c higher at €20.27. C&C climbed to €2.63.
