Investors keen to buy new homes

PROPERTY investors and home owners trading up are buying 48% of all new homes — the same number as first-time buyers, a review of the residential property market has found.

The review by Sherry FitzGerald involved the analysis of a sample of over 2,500 new homes which traded during 2003.

It also found investors were the biggest sellers of second-hand houses.
