IRELAND has emerged as the most euro-friendly country in Europe, according to a major new EU survey.

The latest Eurobarometer poll shows that 84% of Irish people expressed no problems in adapting to use of the euro.

It is the highest score among the 12 EU states which form the eurozone since the introduction of the new currency on January 1, 2002.
