Market falls as financials give ground

THE ISEQ index fell for the second day running as the financials weighed on the market. The Dublin exchange closed down 33.43 points to 6739.24.

AIB lost 17c to close at €17.93 setting the trend for rival Bank Of Ireland, as its share value slipped back 4c to €13.13. Anglo Irish dropped 15c to €11.00 while Irish Life & Permanent bucked the trend in the sector climbing 15c to €14.75.

Ryanair had a rollercoaster ride, but finally finished the day up just 1c to €6.56.
