CONFIDENCE and profit growth expectations are high among companies in Ireland, according to the first KPMG private Irish business survey.

The survey of 95 privately-owned Irish companies and advisors across a range of business sectors, showed that despite worries expressed about the economy, business people expect growth to continue through next year.

Well over three-quarters of the businesses surveyed are optimistic regarding the future of privately owned Irish business.
