CAC 40 highest in three years

FRANCE’S CAC 40 Index rose to its highest in three years, paced by Total as crude oil topped $60 a barrel in New York, stoking fears higher fuel costs will slow economic growth.

The CAC 40 climbed 27.20, or 0.6%, to 4279.95, the highest close since May 31, 2002.

The SBF 120 Index gained 0.7% to 3064.49.
