Merchandise exports increase

NEW figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) revealed seasonally adjusted merchandise exports for August rose by 6% from July. Figures for July showed an increase of 2% from June.

Meanwhile, imports in August rose by 3% relative to July.

The CSO said that when compared with the previous year, the unadjusted exports for August rose by 3% while July’s figures fell by 1%.
