Elan helps market builds on gains

THE Irish market finished the week on a positive note, advancing for a second consecutive day. At the closing bell the ISEQ was 24.18 points stronger at 5660.14.

Elan which is due to release Q3 results next week, gained €1.24 to finish at €19.95, a 6% increase on Thursday’s close.

Among financials, Allied Irish Bank added 14c to €13.81, while Bank of Ireland strengthened 12c to €10.77. On the downside Anglo-Irish slipped 10c to €15.20.
