BOSTON SCIENTIFIC’s Irish plant, which manufactures the Taxus drug-coated heart stent, subject of three recalls in the past two months, has been cleared by US inspectors.

The US Food and Drug Administration completed the inspection of the Galway facility yesterday and found no problems.

Regulators began the inspection on September 1 after the company recalled almost 100,000 stents because of delivery-system defects that led to three deaths and 43 injuries.
