Market recovers in late trading

SHARES in Dublin recovered slightly after spending most of the day in the red. The ISEQ index closed 6.16 points higher to end at 6781.60.

Eircom shares fell a further 3c to €1.67 with over nine million shares changing hands.

The financials were mixed. AIB shed 9c to finish at €17.91. Anglo-Irish also lost ground giving up 5c to €11.05. In contrast Bank of Ireland climbed 7c, while Irish Life and Permanent jumped 14c to €15.14.
