Carbery profits down by €1m

CARBERY Group, the dairy to alcohol group, saw profits fall last year, according to its latest accounts.

Pre-tax profits in 2004 were €4.3 million, €1m less than it made in 2003 as cheese prices in Britain, where it is one of the largest suppliers, were weak.

The decline in profits came as turnover increase form €172m to €182m. The Ballineen-based company did not break down sales from each of its separate divisions.
