RYANAIR is planning to appeal a decision by the aviation regulator on airport charges, which the airline says are still too high.

The airline said the regulator's determination that lowered the maximum amount Aer Rianta can charge airlines was not enough and barely made up for the increase the airports operator received last year.

In March, the Commission for Aviation Regulation said charges would be reduced from €5.45 to €5.29 per passenger. Aer Rianta maintains its charges are among the lowest in Europe.
