Market manages to stage late recovery

IRISH shares traded in the red for most of the day although managed to recover some ground at the end. The ISEQ index slipped 0.30 points to finish at 6810.64.

In the financial sector AIB rose 17c to €17.92. Bank of Ireland dropped 2c at €13.78 with 1.65 million shares traded. Anglo-Irish gave up 18c to €10.97 while Irish Life & Permanent finished 13c weaker at €14.90.

In construction CRH was the main casualty falling 21c. Grafton Group strengthened 5c, while Kingspan climbed 9c to €10.90 and McInerney gained 4c to €8.55.
