US growth may not be sustainable

IT’S well-known that America is the engine of the global economy — that’s why recent signs of economic expansion in the US are so welcome.

And it's also well-known that Irish economic growth prospects are closely tied to the American economic cycle, given our unique dependence on the American multinational sector.

But what wasn't generally known before figures were released last week is that America has now become Ireland's largest export market.
