Horticulture set for €20m deal

Michael Conlon, head of horticulture in Teagasc, said the investment comes in response to the grant aid scheme for the sector of €3.6 million by the Department of Agriculture and Food. The figures are based on more than 150 applications for the scheme.

According to Teagasc, investments will be made on building horticultural buildings, including glasshouses, specialised production, packing, and storage of quality-field vegetables, mushrooms, glasshouse crops, fruit, trees and shrubs.
