Move back to trend growth

THE global economy will go back to trend growth in 2004 once the uncertainties of the Iraq war have been removed, said a leading economist.

After falling sharply in 2001 the global economy grew by 2.7% last year, but still well below trend.

Bloxham Stockbrokers, Alan McQuaid, is allowing for a 3.2% world growth figure this year and a move back to trend growth in 2004 of 4%.
