Market continues good run

SHARES in Dublin traded in positive territory for the third consecutive day. The ISEQ index climbed 69.95 points to 6646.18 led by construction stocks.

Market continues good run

The financials gave a lacklustre performance in early trading in response to the release of the September credit statistics on Friday, which showed an acceleration in loan growth from 28.2% in August to 28.6%. AIB shed 7c to €17.55 while Bank of Ireland climbed 14c to €12.77. Anglo-Irish gained 9c to €11.39 with Irish Life & Permanent dropping 5c to €14.65.

Construction saw the most gains. CRH jumped 74c to €21.59. Kingspan climbed 20c to €9.80 while McInerney and Grafton were stronger by 17c and 13c.
