NATIONAL Irish Bank’s appointment of Andrew Healy as chief executive officer took effect from yesterday.

Mr Healy, 38, spent his first day in the post in Donegal, touring branches and meeting staff.

He has also been appointed to NIB parent Danske Bank’s executive committee.
