Dairygold internal shares hike

FARMER shareholders in Dairygold have seen the value of their internally-traded shares rise dramatically since 2003.

Shares have gone form a par value of €1 to €2.35, pushing up by four times the worth of the average society member's stake from €5,000 in December 2003 to close to €20,000.

This followed from the latest round of trading in the Dairygold internal share trading market when society shares were offered at a weighted average price of €2.34, the co-op said.
