Market activity remains flat

THE Irish market remained relatively flat yesterday. The ISEQ index dipped by 7.75 points to 6790.29.

A sluggish day among the financials saw the main heavyweights in decline. AIB fell 11c to €17.46 while Bank of Ireland was weaker by 5c to €12.93. On the second line Anglo-Irish and Irish Life & Permanent were also lower, dropping 6c and 10c apiece.

In construction, CRH lost 14c to €21.78. Grafton Group was also weaker by 8c at €8.17. Kingspan firmed by 5c to €10.40 with McInerney remaining unchanged at €9.25.
