SHAREHOLDERS at Ryanair’s EGM in Dublin have given the go-ahead for the low-fares airline to proceed with the purchase of €3.15 billion worth of new planes from Boeing.

The company ordered 70 Boeing 737-800 aircraft in February and took options to buy 70 more.

The deal forms part of Ryanair’s plan to become Europe’s largest airline within seven years.
