THE ISEQ closed 38.03 weaker at 6675.92 yesterday.

Financial sector pulls market lower

The bulk of this fall was due to the ISEQ financial index closing 151.11 points lower with all of the bigger banking stocks losing ground. Allied Irish Bank and Bank of Ireland fell 8c and 30c respectively, while Anglo Irish Bank lost 11c to €10.94.

Gainers on the day included Ryanair 16c firmer at €6.88, while C&C group added 29c to €5.00.
